About Road America

In an evermore rapidly moving world, the slightest setback can have ripple effects that reach far beyond what you could predict.  Consumers don’t want anything to slow them down and business executives have to be aware of that.  It’s for this reason that during an emergency, efficient operations with minimal wait time and great customer service are what facilitate high retention rates.  Trying to keep up in today’s marketplace takes innovation at every level… because there’s never any time to lose.

Recognition Through Innovation:

In May of this year, the American Business Awards named Road America as a finalist for a Stevie Award in the category of IT Department of the Year.  This announcement is due thanks in part to two of Road America’s innovative new services.  The first, LocateMe™, began with a partnership with AT&T and allows Road America to pinpoint the location calls originate from on both land- and wireless lines.  Now fully operational across all major U.S. carriers, Road America can locate over 90% of their customer base, allowing for exceptionally fast response times.

In 2011, following the success of LocateMe, the Road America IT Department started developing a wireless roadside assistance application for simultaneous launch across all major smartphone platforms using the same source code. Their IT Department knew an effective app would allow customers to directly request service without contacting call-center agents.  Using Rapid Application Development (RAD) techniques the team developed Drive On™ and, by the fall of 2011, the app became available in web stores for iPhone, Android, and Blackberry.
